Why do we wear costumes on Halloween?
- We don't want to become too serious but it is good to know this fun holiday originates in several old customs which were performed from October 31 to November 5 with All Hallows Even (after poor spelling changed in Halloween) being the most known of all.
- Origins of the holiday are Irish but after few centuries and many changes it officially became American holiday.
- This pagan holiday is now adopted by Christian Church and called All Saints Day but in old times it was all about death, ghosts and supernatural beings. People believed on this evening ghosts of dead folk return on Earth, spirits were mixed with the living souls, so they wore costumes to pretend they were all the same.
